I play
Yamaha Drums with the following head configurations,
wide open, no muffling:
- 22"
Kick: Aquarian Superkick 1 on the batter side, an unported
Remo single-ply coated Ambassador on the resonant side;
or, for easy micing, a ported Aquarian Regulator resonant.
- 16"
Kick (Supper Club setup): Remo Powerstroke 3 batter
with an Evans Genera resonant.
- Snare:
Aquarian single-ply coated Satin finish batter, factory
resonant.
- Toms:
Aquarian single-ply coated Satin finish batters, Evans Genera
resonants.

I
had only been playing drums for a few months when I saw Ringo Starr
on the old Ed Sullivan show in 1964. That clinched it for me. Since
then I have played rock, classical, jazz, swing, R&B, funk,
country and everything in between.
The Delta 88s play an exciting
mix of blues that offer just the right balance of percussive challenge
and all-out fun. I hope to see you at one of our shows.
